OVERVIEW

Get to know high standard art pieces on different kinds and materials, colorful textiles and lots of patterns by meeting the crafters who make them

ITINERARY

In the morning we go to the village of La Esperanza, where a women artisan’s cooperative will show us their fascinating embroidery works. Next destination is “Fabrica de lmbabura”, considered once a large textile factory, but now is a captivating museum. Later, we go to the village of Carabuela to visit a family of artisan weavers to witness ancient weaving techniques on handmade products. Last stop is the visit to the leather capital town Cotacachi to check its leather goods. After lunch, we will get to see in a local workshop how this material is processed and how the final products are done. Transfer back to Otavalo
